Working for you: Employability and Enterprise at Portsmouth

By StudyLink

We prepare you for the real world of employment with ongoing career support from the moment you start, to several years after you finish.

Students in Portsmouth take advantage of the real-life learning experiences provided by the University in purpose built facilities like the on-campus Courtroom, Bloomberg suite, Forensic House and the dedicated Newsroom and TV studio.

These spaces demonstrate the strong vocational and professional nature of many of our courses, where you can develop essential knowledge and skills for successful employment in a global workplace.

You’ll also find that many of our courses provide the opportunity of field trips to help develop your practical understanding in your chosen subject. Our Civil Engineering students were so impressed with what they were getting out of their field trips they took it upon themselves to plan even more!

In addition to our superb facilities, we offer support when you are researching and applying for jobs. We have a dedicated careers service and recruitment agency called Purple Door.

This includes expert advice for CV building, interview practice sessions, help with job applications, workshops and plenty more. A number of the services offered through Purple Door can be accessed by our graduates up to five years after graduation so the support you receive continues after you have left us.

Potential entrepreneurs also have access to resources that focus on Enterprise. You’ll receive support to develop your enterprise skills and develop your own businesses/ventures/products or become self-employed/sole traders and freelancers.

As you can see, at Portsmouth we have employability covered and you will find all the support and advice you need to prepare you for your career in the global workplace.

We look forward to hearing from you soon!
