What students think about Nottingham Business School, Nottingham Trent University

    Antonio Cuyas, MSc Digital Marketing

Testimonial from Antonio Cuyas, MSc Digital Marketing, student at Nottingham Business School

"I decided to study MSc Digital Marketing as every industry is progressively becoming more digitally orientated. I am also very engaged with social media and believed that this course would allow me to pursue my interest in the industry.

Some of the key features for me were the modules as well as the different options available to students to gain practical work experience. For example, in my final semester I chose to do the Consultancy Project option as it allows me to gain valuable work experience for my future as well as allowing me to keep my part-time job.

I do believe that I will become more employable as I know how well recognised NBS is in the United Kingdom and abroad, most notably NBS’ recent AACSB Accreditation.

What sets NBS apart from other business schools or colleges is the importance it places on providing its students with valuable work experience during their degree.

I would most definitely recommend studying at Nottingham Business School to future students."

    Jordan Elphick, MSc Entrepreneurship

Testimonial from Jordan Elphick, MSc Entrepreneurship, student at Nottingham Business School

"My main reason for choosing this degree was because I wanted to learn how to run my business properly after seeing that it had potential to be more professional. I knew that MSc Entrepreneurship was the right course for me as it would allow me gain transferable skills which I could take away and put in to practice with my own business.

This programme really stood out to me because of the pitching event that takes place towards the end of the degree. Students get the opportunity to pitch to investors which could potentially result in an investment in to their proposed business ideas. I also appreciated the fact that the degree was geared towards providing more practical skills as opposed to a traditional masters degree where coursework is more general.

I feel that my masters degree will give me a competitive edge in my line of business. Many people do what I do as a hobby which means they don't have very much business knowledge. I feel that with the knowledge gained through studying for my MSc degree in entrepreneurship it will allow me to put theory in practice."

    Sangjat Dakok, MSc Economics

Testimonial from Sangjat Dakok, MSc Economics, student at Nottingham Business School

"My cousin recommended NTU to me. She knew someone who had studied here and really benefitted from the experience. Researching NTU I found that the Nottingham Business School (NBS) was amongst the top 5% of business schools in the world. I really appreciated the service provided by the NTU team. They were really quick to assess my documents and to make me an offer within two weeks of applying.

The MSc Economics modules covered an impressive breadth of topics and aligned with what I wanted to learn and achieve from my Master’s degree. The most relevant module for me was Contemporary Issues in Economics as I want to help develop policies that will positively impact my home country’s economy.

What I found really useful was the opportunity to work on real, current issues to test the economic theory we had learnt in our seminars. For example, I worked on a case-study related to the multi-billion High Speed Train Development project (HS2) in the UK. I was tasked with developing a cost benefit analysis of the project and presenting my findings in the form of an academic report. Something I hope to be doing in my future career. It was this type of real-world focus which enabled me to put theory in to practice as an economist.

In addition, the MSc Economics degree exposed me to the use of software and its importance for economic planning and modelling purposes. I didn’t have experience with using software during my bachelor’s degree, so this has opened up a completely new and useful skillset for me."
