LLM International Energy Law aims to provide you with a critical understanding of current issues relating to energy and environmental policy and regulation at an international level.

About the LLM International Energy Law

The course introduces you to key international legal principles and frameworks regulating the energy sector and considers their application to global energy industries at a moment when the international community is seeking to address the challenges of climate change.

The course adopts a ‘reflective’ approach. It provides you with a fundamental understanding of the international legal framework governing natural resources and how climate change concerns have translated into policy.
It also places significant emphasis upon the regulation of renewable and more sustainable energy sources, such as solar, wind, geothermal and hydropower (sunrise energy sources) as well as the use of traditional mining activities.
