History

The University of the West of England (UWE Bristol), dates back to 1595 when it was formerly called the Merchant Venturers Navigation School. The institution gained its full university status in 1992. The main campus is about 5 miles north of the city centre at Frenchay.

International Admissions

To gain entry to UWE Bristol, international students must have a recognised English Language qualification. Admissions must be made through UCAS, and each course will have individual entry requirements.
