Study a Geology degree in the UK in 2024

Study the composition and history of the Earth with a degree in Geology. Learn about the processes that form our planet, from its core and crust, to atmosphere and oceans, its material composition and what we can learn about our interactions with the planet and its climate.

Graduates of degrees in geology can go on to careers as a geologist, geochemist or academia, in mining or even as government advisors.

Your degree will be delivered in a mixture of modes, including lectures, tutorials, seminars and group projects. Depending on your course, you may also have the option to take part in a work placement. Modules you study could include:

  • Earth materials and minerals
