Study a French degree in the UK in 2025

French is a major international language, spoken not only in Europe, but also in Africa and North America. Studying French will not only improve your fluency in the language, but will let you learn more about the rich culture of France, the literature and language, the history and politics and the culture of France.

Graduates of degrees in French can go on to a wide range of careers in areas such as business services, translation, teaching, politics, marketing and tourism.

Your degree will be delivered in a mixture of modes, including lectures, tutorials, seminars and group projects. Depending on your course, you may also have the option to take part in a work placement. Modules you study could include:
