About Psychology, MPhil - at University of Exeter

We encourage those aiming to embark on a PhD to start by registering for one of our MSc programmes. Once you have completed the MSc you are eligible to apply for a place on the MPhil/PhD programme. Suitable applicants with a recognised Masters qualification (or equivalent) are normally permitted to register immediately for the MPhil/PhD programme. From the MPhil, upgrades to PhD are usually considered after 16-17 months of full-time postgraduate registration. We take on postgraduate students only in areas where we have an active research involvement.

Our research is organised around four research groups: Animal Behaviour; Clinical; Cognitive; and Social, Economic & Organisational Psychology. These are also complemented by three associated research centres: the Centre for Clinical Neuropsychology Research (CNNR); the Exeter Centre for Cognitive Neuroscience; and the Mood Disorders Centre.
