About Development Planning at Henley Business School, University of Reading

The programme provides a thorough education and training in the principles and practice of spatial, or town and country, planning. It is designed chiefly for those wishing to become Chartered Town Planners and is fully accredited by the RTPI for exemption from its professional examinations. It is also accredited by the RICS under the partnership arrangements between that Institute and The University of Reading.

Students successfully completing the course can therefore gain RTPI and/or RICS chartered status subject to successful completion of the Institution's Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) requirements.

  • Planning Theory, Politics and Practice

  • Real Estate Economics

  • Planning Projects (Inc. Regional and European Field Visits)

  • Real Estate Development

  • Integrated Project (Double module)

Entry Requirements

A good first degree or its equivalent in a cognate discipline. Relevant practical experience is useful but not essential.
