This unrivalled programme examines the political process of European integration, its origins, dynamics and prospects within a rigorous theoretical and empirical framework. It addresses key issues in European integration such as governance and policymaking, democratisation/Consitutionalisation, European identity and public sphere, external relations, nationalism, and security.

Exeter has a high concentration of EU expertise who are integrated into wider national and international research networks.
