The MA is particularly suited to professional practitioners, and/or graduates, who wish to advance their practice and reflect on their creative process within a particular field (eg acting, performance, performer training, directing, or writing for performance). The programme aims to facilitate the evolution of an effective individual practice in these specialist areas. Each individual’s creative and intellectual development is advanced through a careful combination of group practice, individual practice, and theoretical reflection. A research seminar provides a foundation in research methods. The dissertation is the culmination of the degree, and can take either an exclusively written format, or combine further practice in a specific area with reflective writing on that practice. There are three pathway options within the MA degree: Physical Performance and Intercultural Actor Training, Directing and Actor Training, or Performance Art, Site and Autobiography.
Entry requirements A suitable first degree or equivalent and a genuine preparedness to pursue an individual practice.
