Study a English Language degree in the UK in 2025

Are you interested in the foundations of the English Language? While studying a degree in English Language, you will analyse the origins of the language and how it has evolved over time. You will look at linguistics and grammatical structures, and the diverse styles of English spoken in the UK and around the world.

Graduates of English Language degrees will have developed strong transferable skills such as a mastery of linguistics and strong communication skills. Careers paths can include marketing, journalism, lecturing, writing, communications and academia.

Your masters degree will be delivered through lectures and seminars, with a possibility of group projects. Modules you study might include:
