Overview
You can help to shape the future through learning about early years education. During this innovative new course you will study how 3-7 year olds learn, gain insight into child development, and learn how to help them grow into their full potential.
Why choose this course?
You will explore the latest theory and analysis surrounding childhood and the roles that culture, play and legal issues have in childhood education today. You will learn about child development and learning in today's multicultural societies, preparing you for all modern contexts in your educational career.
You will study a diverse range of modules, from legal issues such as family rights and safeguarding to psychological theory. This allows you to get a thorough understanding of all factors affecting the field, as well as helping you identify the areas you could specialise in.

Please note fees are paid for each year of study unless otherwise stated. You will be required to re-enrol and pay fees at the beginning of each academic year. Entry requirements
112 UCAS points (of which at least 160 must be from a relevant area, for example: humanities, social science and literature/languages or childhood/social care professionalisms).

You must hold GCSEs in English and Mathematics at Grade 'C' and above. If you intend to apply for PGCE to attain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) GCSE Science at Grade 'C' or above is strongly recommended.
Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL)
We will also consider students for direct entry into Level 5 (Year 2) and Level 6 (Year 3) providing they meet our criteria for APL.
International students need to meet our English language requirement at either IELTS at 6.0 or above and a minimum of 5.5 for each of the 4 individual components (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening).
