Theology as an academic discipline looks at the nature of the divine and the various religious beliefs around the world. As a student of theology, you will study the human experience of faith and how it is expressed by different cultures and societies. Whilst you may have an interest in one particular religion, theologians tend to look at the many different religions that exist.

Graduates of a masters degree in theology will have a range of career options available to them. The skills you gain during your degree will be applicable to various different fields. Some options include religious studies teacher, counsellor, chaplain/cleric, religious historian and archivist, among others.

Your degree will be delivered through lectures and seminars, as well as group projects. Modules you study might include:

  • Philosophy of Religion
  • Theology and Ethics
  • Women and Witchcraft in Early Modern Europe
  • Religions of Ancient India
  • Religion and Traditions
  • Science and Religion
