About Ministerial Theology (Graduate Diploma), Graduate Diploma - at University of Roehampton

Whether you are a pastor, pastoral assistant or evangelist, a worship leader or running a community group, this one year programme gives you the opportunity to develop your intellectual and practical expertise while continuing to exercise your ministry in your local Church or community.

The Graduate Diploma in Ministerial Theology is for those engaged in Christian ministry and mission, who already have an undergraduate degree in a subject other than Theology, and are looking to continue onto Masters level study.

You will join a large Ministerial Theology student body, ranging from foundation level to PhD, and benefit from Roehampton's historical roots as an institution with strong connections to the Church. Chapel is held regularly during term and students are encouraged to attend and participate. All of our ministry students become members of our Whitelands College, which means you will benefit from the chaplaincy facilities available there.

You will undertake a long ministry placement which will be based where you are normally engaged in ministry, structured through a number of reflective projects. All students have a local mentor who provides support and supervision, and there are liaison visits by University staff.

Teaching takes place out of working hours, giving you space to manage other commitments that you may have. Our staff have a wide range of research interests and expertise, but particular specialisms include African Christianity, Christian Education, Congregational Studies, Ecclesiology, Pentecostalism, New Testament and Transnational Churches.
