About Accounting, BSc (Hons) - at University of Roehampton

Our Accounting BSc provides an excellent preparation for professional practice in accounting, enabling you to work in a wider range of business, public and third-sector organisations.

At the same time, you will develop yourself personally, confident in your own values, able to apply your knowledge to solve problems, and ultimately able to add value to any organisation. On completing this ACCA-accredited degree you will be exempt from nine of the ACCA professional exams, should you go on to work towards your full professional qualification.

Our Accounting degree is strongly focused on developing you as a 'business ready' graduate: highly employable and capable as well as with the key knowledge and skills required by professional accounting bodies. To achieve these aims, this degree will support you in your personal and professional journey.

On completing your degree, you will have an in-depth knowledge of accounting and its relationship to organisations and society. You will be provided with a significant number of opportunities to develop your ability to identify and solve complex accounting problems. You will learn both the skills and techniques necessary to solve these problems, and how to apply them to a range of business decisions.

To support your professional development, you will build relevant personal skills. For example, you will equip yourself with all the self-confidence, resilience and enterprise to be able to professionally challenge the status quo and present realistic alternatives, practicing communicating your ideas effectively. Personal skills also underpin good problem-solving ability, and you will be supported by academics and personal tutors to build your determination and ethical awareness in finding solutions to a variety of issues.

Your academics and personal tutors have a wealth of experience in a wide range of accounting contexts, and will demonstrate how your learning connects to and impacts upon the real world.
