Visual effects is an important part of the film and television industry, responsible for creating or manipulating imagery. This usually involves creating effects that are not possible for live action shooting, and requires knowledge of advanced design and computer animation skills. Studying for a degree in visual effects will provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to make a career in the discipline.
Modules you study might include CGI and visual effects, 3D animation, visual development, pre-production and post-production effects. Your degree will be delivered in a mixture of modes. These could include lectures and seminars, as well as group projects. Depending on your course, there may be more of a focus on the practical or theoretical aspects of the subject area.
