Course summary
Taught by industry professionals who all have excellent track records in making award-winning work in documentary, drama, and art film and television. The course is designed to provide you with an in-depth knowledge of up-to-date production practice underpinned by conceptual insight.
Student screenings
The highlight of our film year is the summer screening of our students' graduating work at the end of May, at the Prince Charles Cinema in Leicester Square. Here, industry figures, alumni, and friends and family will all be able to celebrate your work.
We also have a growing presence at national and international film festivals, and encourage and support you to submit work at every level of the course. This year we hope to be screening at Ann Arbor, Poiters, Clermont Ferrand, Bristol Encounters, and Sheffield.
Student film challenges
You will be set two film challenges a year, where you will mentor each other and make themed short films in small groups in just three days. In the autumn, it is traditionally a horror theme, and we usually make an occasion of it by screening your work at a local pub around Halloween. In the spring, the theme tends to be a comedy or Sci-Fi.
Film society
We have a lively film society that arranges events throughout the year, from interesting speakers to screenings of cult films and students' work.
