Murtaza Faruquee - PhD in Marketing

“UNNC provides a unique embodiment for PhD research. I have received the best of the philosophical and theoretical robustness of British research style and at the same time the cultural richness of China, which have helped me to understand things from different vantage points, and collectively made me a better researcher.

I came to this institution as a knowledge-hungry sapling and learned to grow with wisdom. The journey of achieving a PhD is a challenging yet divine experience. As an international student, I cannot think of any other place where I could get a similar exposure and opportunities together.”

Student

Phoebe Miles - PhD in English Studies

“Achieving a PhD is not just about your thesis; it’s about recognising your own abilities and developing yourself as a researcher. Since choosing UNNC, I’ve had multiple opportunities in both academia and in my own personal interests. I’ve learnt another language, explored new culture, and formed networks that will support my academic career for years to come.”

Student

Devianita - MSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management

"Doing the one-year master's programme at UNNC has been an exciting journey for me. It is a pity that I could not attend the lectures physically due to the pandemic. Nevertheless, the lecturers and staff have always put tremendous effort in delivering the course materials clearly. Moreover, making friends with others who come from different backgrounds has been wonderful. Other than studying theories, I am very grateful that UNNC's MSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management programme has also provided me with hands-on experience throughout the extensive curriculum. It has allowed me to realise my value, sharpen my creative thinking, and become a more effective person who is ready to contribute to society. There is a saying which goes, 'A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.' and I believe I have taken that one step right here at UNNC. "
