This is a programme of study that involves networking, software developmenttechnologies and architectures for the design and management of modern distributedcomputer systems and networks. The emphasis is on a software engineering approachbased on sound modern software engineering project management methods, tools andtechniques, which enable an integrated lifecycle systems development view.
The programme aims to provide students with the knowledge, skills and understandingrequired to allow them to contribute to the planning, design and management ofmodern network based computer systems. Students will gain the understanding ofcritical evaluation of existing technology options, future developments, protocols,architecture and tools needed to support the development and delivery of advancednetwork services. Upon successful completion of this Master's programme graduatesare expected to be proficient in the development of new enterprise distributed and/orweb-enabled systems, the integration of legacy systems into intranets or extranets,and advanced data and telecommunication technologies.
Though our short course centre opportunity may also be provided to study for the following professional qualifications: CISCO Certified Network Associate; PenetrationTesting and Vulnerability Assessment.
The availability of some courses is subject to satisfying constraints that may come intoeffect in the year of entry. In addition, some options are negotiable, indicating that acourse selection will need to be approved prior to the student undertaking therequested option.
