About Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy at University of Exeter

The University of Exeter’s Mood Disorders Centre has an international profile in developing and researching Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). The programme is designed for health care professionals wishing to apply MBCT in their work. You will benefit directly from this research-based environment with the opportunity to:
  • Participate in an MBCT group; observe and reflect on a range of established mindfulness practitioners (live and on video tape); rehearse new skills on peers and instruct MBCT groups under supervision

  • Gain an depth focus on the theory and research underpinning MBCT, including access to the work carried out in the Mood Disorders Centre

  • Explore the lineage of mindfulness in Buddhist Psychology with the input of experienced Buddhist teachers

  • Participate in retreats oriented towards MBCT teachers through collaborative links with Gaia House.

We hope to be able to offer the option of undertaking a Masters thesis with MBCT teachers / researchers enabling you to explore an aspect of MBCT in greater detail.
