The study programme in General Management, leading to a Master of Science qualification, is intended for students who have completed a Bachelor's degree or Diplom in Business Sciences. It will qualify you to perform functions with leadership responsibility in companies and organisations as well as to undertake an academic career. It will also enable you to undertake a doctorate.
With the qualification, PFH also provides you with a job guarantee: we will return a part of your tuition fees if you have completed your course within the standard period of study, but have not found a suitable job within nine months of graduating.
Master's Degree in General Managment / Dual Degree option
PFH offers the three-semester Master's degree in General Management at Campus Göttingen. It is accredited by ZEvA, the Central Accreditation and Evaluation Agency, and state-recognised.
Study Content
The Master's degree enables you to add academic depth to specialist focus areas from the basic study programme or to add further focus areas. In addition, it focuses on Corporate Management and Accounting. The study programme also contributes to developing your personality and strengthening your personal skills in the form of individual coaching sessions as well as courses in soft skill training and Business English. In addition, the mentoring scheme of our professors and the University's own Career Service will support you in starting your career. Through its numerous elective options, the syllabus of the Master's degree offers maximum scope for individual specialisation in accordance with your career goals. For example, you will choose two out of six focus areas in the first semester.
Focus on Corporate Management
You can also take the cross-cutting topic of Corporate Management in different variants, depending on your career goals. These variants focus either on topics like International Accounting, Corporate Value, Auditing and Finance or on SME-oriented topics like Entrepreneurship, Innovation Management, Organisation and Human Resources.
Practical and Research Projects
The study programme makes provision for three project phases, in which you can apply yourself either to scientific problems (research projects) or practically oriented projects in companies. During the projects, which can be completed as individual or group projects, you will remain in constant dialogue with your supervising professor. Students who choose project activities in companies can gather up to seven months' practical experience during their studies in this way and can follow up, on request, with the three-month master's thesis directly in the company.
Dual Degree Option – Study abroad and earn two degrees!
The dual degree options at the PFH offer you the chance to study in two different countries, gaining two different insights and obtaining two degrees. Having degrees from two long-standing institutions and two countries is a huge career boost!
Depending on where you want to go the duration and costs vary (also depending on the exchange rates). Next to your step towards an international career, you can also choose to study completely in English or take parts in German and/or French, depending on your chosen location. The program starts in October and April every year.
