Robotics is the study of robots. The discipline combines elements of product design, mechanical engineering, and electronics.
Studying for a degree in robotics will allow you to develop your understanding of how robots are designed, created and utilised.
You might take modules such as mechatronics, electronic engineering, robotic design and mechanical engineering. You may also work with computer aided design (CAD) programmes as part of your course.
Your degree will be delivered in a mixture of modes. These could include lectures and seminars, as well as practical work. You may also be given the opportunity to take part in a work or industrial placement.
Studying for a postgraduate degree in robotics will allow you to further develop your knowledge and skills in the area.
Your practical application will be challenged, and exposure to the industry will mean that you are prepared for your career in a fast-developing discipline. Modules studied could include artificial intelligence, autonomous system design, and signal processing.
