Established in 1922, Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) provides studies and research in all areas answering the demands of today’s ever-changing world. Ranked the 1st in Lithuania by alumni employability and student satisfaction, KTU is among the top 500 world universities by employer reputation criteria (QS World University Rankings 2019).

Scholarships at Kaunas University of Technology

KTU is providing free of charge studies for international students with outstanding results, tuition fee discounts are available, and being a citizen of EU or EEA country you might be eligible for a state-funded study place. Also, the nationals of certain countries can apply for state scholarship for their master’s studies. Keep in mind, once you are already a KTU student, a number of new funding opportunities open up.

  • SCHOLARSHIP FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS. All prospective students who submit their application through University’s Application System will automatically become candidates to receive the Scholarship which is assigned for the first year Bachelor or Masters students with strong academic record and motivation. The application closes together with the latest deadline of application for studies until 31 July 2020.
  • TUITION FEE DISCOUNT is automatically applied if you are from one of the following countries in Europe or Central and South America. You are eligible for a discount if you are applying for a full-time Bachelor or Master degree studies.
  • INCENTIVES FOR STUDENTS. A number of scholarship possibilities open up for you once you start studying. KTU students can apply for Talent, Sponsor, Incentive Scholarship, and for an Accommodation Grant. Check all the scholarships here.

Accommodation Information for Students

12 KTU dormitories are available for KTU students. The easy and fast dormitory reservation system allows checking for a free room and to book a place. A single room in a dormitory costs up to 155 euros per month and a double - up to 130 euros.

Stats reveal that compared to the Lithuanian capital Vilnius, living in Kaunas is much more economical: here one would pay almost 57% less for rent and 9% less for a meal in a restaurant (which means that even students can afford it, occasionally). Most international students say that € 350–400 per month is enough to cover the living costs (depending on their habits and shopping choices).

KTU has cooperation agreements with more than 350 higher education institutions in 50 countries of the world. Memorandums of Understanding, Student and staff exchange and “Erasmus+” inter-institutional agreements allow the University to develop strategic partnerships with foreign institutions in studies and research, and for our staff and students to go for academic exchange.
