Study Occupational Therapy Degrees

Occupational therapy looks at the promotion of good health and helping people to overcome various problems to live a better and more independent life. Those people may require your skills as an occupational therapist due to an illness or injury, a chronic pain issue, mental health problems, or mobility issues. The overall aim of an occupational therapist is to increase the quality of life of their client or patient.

Graduates of a degree in occupational therapy will have a range of career options available to them. The most common career is to become an occupational therapist within different healthcare settings, such as hospitals, care homes, and schools.

Your degree will be delivered through a mixture of modes. These will include lectures and seminars, as well as possible practical sessions. Depending on your course, you may also be presented with the opportunity to take part in a work placement. Modules you study could include:

  • Occupational Performance
  • Working with Children and Young People
  • Working with Adults and Elderly People
  • Specialist Skills within Occupational Therapy
  • Leadership and Management in Occupational Therapy
