Occupational Therapists help people of all ages to develop, recover, or maintain the skills they need for daily living and working. Our accredited and approved Occupational Therapy BSc combines innovative teaching, hands-on practice-based experience, and cutting-edge facilities to prepare you for a dynamic role in this rapidly evolving profession. Our supportive learning environment and focus on the contribution that meaningful occupation has to the physical and mental health and wellbeing of individuals will empower you to become a confident, compassionate occupational therapist ready to make a difference. Course overview The Occupational Therapy programme is designed to give you the skills, knowledge, and professional identity needed to thrive in this rewarding and evolving field.

Occupational Therapy is all about helping people improve their health and wellbeing by participating in their meaningful occupations and activities of daily life. This course focuses on how important these activities are for both physical and mental health, preparing you to make a real difference in the lives of individuals and communities. Our curriculum is based on the latest research and reflects current practices in the UK and internationally, ensuring you're ready for the demands of today's job market. You'll benefit from a variety of hands-on learning experiences in different settings, including the NHS, private healthcare, and community organisations, so you're well-prepared for your future career.

You'll also have the chance to work alongside students from other health courses, helping you develop teamwork skills. Our programme aims to support the development of a strong sense of professional identity, professionalism and core knowledge and skills. By the time you graduate, you'll be ready to make a positive impact both within the occupational therapy community and in the lives of the individuals, communities and populations in which you choose to work. Accredited by the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT), approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT) Specialist facilities including a purpose-built Activities of Daily Living (ADL) suite and multi-purpose workshop.

Complete 1000 hours of hands-on practice-based learning in diverse settings. Combined learning opportunities within the university and in practice support the development of your confidence, self-efficacy, resilience and adaptability. Eligible students can apply for a non-repayable £5,000 NHS grant per academic year For more details, please see the course page on the Keele website.
