About B.A. Photography in New Media, BA - at Warsaw School of Photography and Graphic Design

They last three years. Courses are taught from October to June from Mondays to Fridays during the day. During the third year the student is required to complete a B.A. thesis under a supervisor which consists of a written part and a set of works in photography or video. Students whose proficiency in English is not sufficiently advanced may write their thesis in their native language and have it translated into English at their own cost. The written thesis will be an analysis of a particular problem and will reflect the intellectual development of the student during his/her studies at our University. The visual work will become an important part of the student’s portfolio and will be useful to find employment or be admitted to an M.A. programme.

The core of the B.A. programmes are the Photography courses taught by the faculty of the Warsaw School of Photography and Graphic Design. To obtain a B.A. the student has to take additional courses offered by the Warsaw University of Humanities in order to comply with the requirements of the Polish Ministry of Research and Higher Education and with the European Union Comission.

Entry requirements

We do not require any previous experience in photography from candidates applying for the first year of studies. We have courses which start from the very beginning and are parallel to our other regular courses. In the first year we teach you the basic techniques of photography. Our philosophy is to let students discover their hidden talents and give them the opportunity to develop them. We are often happily surprised to see the superior work done after a year or two at our school by students who at the beginning were totally inexperienced and did not have any artistic portfolio to show.We require an adequate level of understanding and communication in English.Students will take English language courses during their stay at our school to improve their English skills.
