Course Overview
This course explores environmental processes, e.g. carbon, water and nitrogen cycles and how the learner's organisation impacts upon them through the assessment of pollution sources, pathways and receptors. It identifies roles and responsibilities with respect to local and national environmental legislation, and shows how the assessment process is an essential step towards the development of an environmental management system (EMS). Consideration will be given to the ways that greenhouse gases contribute to climate change and the principles behind internationally recognised philosophies.
Assessment
A written assignment that examines the impact to the environment of a process that is relevant to the learner's workplace.
Credit Value: 10 credits level 4
Further Information
You will be required to attend two half-day teaching sessions at the Carmarthen Campus. These days will provide you with a secure foundation for your study. Throughout this module you will be supported by a Tutor. This support can either be face-to-face, via telephone, email or Skype - or a mix of all these. You will be required to complete the module within three months of the induction.
