About Digital Arts Practice, BA (Hons) - at University of Greenwich

Digital Arts Practice is a programme for people who are actively curious about creative digital technology and software. Our prospective students will already be using computers to create images, videos or music- or even making interactive and experimental artworks with kits and electronics.

If you enjoy experimenting with creative software and hardware and want to pursue a rewarding career in the digital creative industries, the BA Digital Arts Practice is relevant to you. The programme runs within the department of Creative Professions and Digital Arts, where you will meet and work with students from other creative programmes on projects and coursework.

This programme has been designed in response to the need for graduates with a broad range of talent and ability in the digital creative industries. The programme will provide you with an understanding of the relevance and value of your expertise and knowledge upon graduation, and aspiration to go on to postgraduate study and research.

  • Product prototyping and design

Degree structureYear 1

You learn the fundamental tools of creative practice using digital technology. You receive grounding in creative computer coding, visual theory, and the skills required to document, present and manage project work.

Year 2

Year 2 develops the ideas and techniques explored in year one, with continues emphasis on presentation, exhibition and documentation of their work. You will start to refine specialist skills that can be taken forward into project work in year three.

Year 3

Year 3 prepares you for graduation with a complete portfolio of work to demonstrate the breadth and depth of your creativity and knowledge in the digital arts. The year ends with a group exhibition in which you should work alongside students from other programmes in the CPDA department.
