About Islamic Studies at University of Exeter

This programme, which is open to interested students without any prior specialised background, introduces the study of Islam as a religious, intellectual and cultural tradition, within the wider perspective of the study of religions, both in historical and contemporary contexts. A wide range of options and supervisory possibilities for MA dissertation research allow students to pursue their own interests in the multitude of fields related to Islamic Studies, including the study of Islam in contemporary settings, and to begin or continue related language preparation in both Arabic and Persian.

Entry requirementsA good honours degree preferably, but not necessarily, in Arabic, Islamic or Middle Eastern Studies.
