Much of the programme is based on seminars, lectures and studio work. Students undertake an intensive investigation of a theme related to the aims of the programme, involving placement and/or visits to schools, colleges or other artistic and educational establishments.
Modules
Five core modules:
- Arts in the Curriculum
- Personal Practice in one of the special fields of Dance, Drama, Music or Visual Art.
- Personal Practice in one of the special fields of Dance, Drama, Music or Visual Art in Education
- Creativity and the Arts
- Arts Education, Theory and Practice.
MEd students take all five taught modules, and also submit an MEd dissertation. Modules 1, 2, 3 and either 4 or 5 are taken for the PgDip. Modules 1 and either 3 or 4 are taken for the PgCert.
Entry requirements Applicants will normally be qualified teachers, or hold an equivalent professional qualification, or have at least three years’ experience in their relevant area of professional work. Applicants should hold a good Honours degree or equivalent.
