About Economics and Finance, BA - at University of Exeter Business School

This programme provides you with the theoretical background you'll need in order to enjoy a career in the financial sector.

If you choose to work in this area, you'll be following in the footsteps of many successful Exeter graduates, a number of whom have found employment with financial institutions. These include banks, insurance, pension and investment management companies, as well as stockbrokers and financial advisors.

During the first year you'll take five compulsory modules: Principles of Economics; Introduction to Statistical Methods; Basic Mathematical Economics; Elements of Accounting; and Introduction to Finance. There is also an elective. In the second, you'll study four modules: Macroeconomics; Microeconomics; Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management; and Statistics and Econometrics. And in the third year, your learning will focus on electives plus two further modules: Financial Markets and Decisions; and Commodities Futures and Options.
