About Architecture, MA - at University for the Creative Arts (UCA)

Our MA Architecture course is a research focused programme that expresses and advances your knowledge of built and occupied space, through direct 1:1 scale making. You'll have the opportunity to undertake individual thematic investigations which will incorporate prototyping, experimenting, re-designing and crafting. This will provide a performative basis for the assessment of your design ambition, ability and research achievement.

Our School of Architecture has been ranked in the Architecture top ten by The Guardian University League Tables 2018.

For us, architecture is not only concerned with buildings and construction details, but also how people perceive and understand space at a fundamental level. Our School of Architecture maintains strong relationships with the professionals and organisations in the industry, and our course team are well-placed to provide you with industry links that could lead to further experience and career development.

As well as working intensively at our Canterbury campus, you'll have the opportunity to work periodically in London with our renowned Professor of Architecture, Will Alsop, and also take part in an overseas workshop. At the end of the course you'll become responsible for the design, construction and public exhibition of a full scale immersive installation that will act as a unique expression of the expertise you've developed with us.

This course is project based, supplemented by workshops, lectures, seminars and independent study.
