Entry requirements

We are looking for applicants who have graduated from an accredited high school or have an equivalent qualification (such as a GED) with a minimum cumulative High School GPA of 2.50. However, we believe that a student's potential isn't always measured by GPA alone. That's why we take a holistic approach to admissions for applicants whose cumulative high school GPA is between 2.40 and 2.49. Through a personal essay and faculty interview, we look beyond the numbers to understand each student's experiences, dedication to nursing, and persistence and compassion for others - qualities that are essential to success in the profession.

Praveen Pedapudi

Working as a respiratory therapist gave me a new excitement I never found in other jobs. I realized I wanted to be involved in every aspect of patient care—not just one small part. The MSMS program showed me I could do it, and it gave me the confidence to get into PHSU's MD program and pursue my dream of becoming a physician.

- Praveen Pedapudi, PHSU MSMS Graduate, Current MD Student

Samantha Kos

As an MSMS student, you have access to an analytics tool that allows you to see a projection of your performance on the USMLE Step 1 and updates in real time after every exam. I like to think of the MSMS program as a practice run of medical school to assess your capabilities as a future MD student. I graduated top of my class, and now, I confidently and successfully use the skills from the MSMS program as a PHSU MD student.

- Samantha Kos, MSMS Graduate, Current MD Student
