About Diploma of Engineering Technology - Welding, UG:Diploma - at Universiti Kuala Lumpur (Uni KL)

This course will equip the individual with professional and technological knowledge and skills in welding leading to technical diploma and competency as a welding technologist. Welding Technologies involves all aspects of welding training which include the management and participation in areas of welding inspection, technical support, assistant to engineer and advisor to welders and operators.

To produce Engineering technicians who analyze and apply the knowledge and laboratory experiences to solve welding problems.

To produce Engineering technicians who balance the role of being a leader and a team member by utilising effective communication skill to support their role in the industries.

Majors in welding technology will be able to:

Apply knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering technology fundamentals to well defined practical procedures and practices.

Analyze well-defined engineering problems in welding specialization.

Formulate solutions to well-defined technical problems related to welding.

PLO 4
Assist in the formulation of welding systems, components or processes to meet specified needs.

Conduct investigations of well-defined problems in welding.

Apply appropriate techniques, resources and engineering tools to well-defined welding engineering activities, with an awareness of their limitations.

Demonstrate an awareness of and consideration for societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and their consequent responsibilities.

The fees for this Diploma amounts 14,900 RM

Entry requirements

O-Level :

Pass O Level with minimum Grade C in five (5) subjects includes Mathematics, one (1) Science subjects OR technical OR Vokasional and two (2) other subjects and at least pass English

Certifications :

Pass certificate (Level 3, KKM) certified Engineering/Technology Engineering OR related from Higher Education Institution certified by Malaysia Government with minimum CGPA 2.00

Pass certificate (Level 3, KKM) certified Vocationa/Technical/Skills or related from Higher Education Institution certified by Malaysia Government with minimum CGPA 2.00 and at least one (1) credit in SPM with working experience within related fields for one (1) year OR at least bridging program for one (1) semester
