Our MSc Information Technology (Business) offers the best set of practical, analytical and theoretical courses for a combined business management and software engineering based training. It covers the design and development of IT systems, the management of IT, business organisation and strategy, project leadership and e-commerce.
Such a strong and unique combination is hard to find and gives our graduates an edge in their pursuit of a research, software requirements engineer, business and IT analytics or IT journalism career.
The programme does not emphasise computer programming but instead seeks to develop graduates who are equipped with excellent analytical and project management skills to help them become the best communicators / managers working between hard-core software developers and business managers.
In some cases, the MSc project can be carried out in collaboration with an outside industrial or academic organisation.
Graduates from the programme would be suitable for employment with IT companies, company R&D divisions, financial services organisations, defence contractors or government IT agencies or could register for a PhD.

Programme duration
This full-time programme starts in mid September and lasts one year. The programme can also be taken part-time over 2 years or as a 9 month Postgraduate Diploma.

Entry requires a good honours degree in a numerate subject area. Candidates holding a little less than a good honours degree or its equivalent but with compensating qualifications or experience may be admitted to the Postgraduate Diploma programme. Transfer to the MSc will be possible later on if exam and course work are at MSc level. Non-native English speakers should have an English level of IELTS 6.5 or its equivalent.

Important: If your first language is not English, or your first degree was not taught in English, we'll need to see evidence of your English language ability.
The minimum requirement for English language is IELTS 6.5, we also accept TOEFL (scores of 79 and higher).
