The University of Derby’s Buxton campus really appealed to me because its courses are high quality and there’s a much more personal approach to teaching. You get plenty of one-to-one time with your lecturers.”
The University’s links to employers and the importance they place on real world and work based learning also appealed to Sing Er.

I was really pleased to find out that the University of Derby has lots of links with well known employers and that work placements were actively encouraged as part of the courses,” she added.
“The University of Derby Buxton welcomes students from all cultures and the growing number of international students are well catered for by the dedicated international team. Moving so far away from home was really scary at first but with the help of the international support team I settled in very quickly. There’s a multi-cultural society on campus that organises trips for international students which is a really good way of making friends” she explains.
“From the moment I arrived, the University of Derby provided me with a friendly and welcoming environment in which to study, as well as an opportunity to improve my English. I’d definitely recommend coming here to study to my friends back home,” concludes Sing Er.
