Studying rehabilitation abroad

Studying rehabilitation as an international student offers the chance to develop hands-on skills in helping patients recover and thrive after injury or illness.

Rehabilitation looks at helping people return to their full potential and best condition. Patients could be recovering from an injury or illness, or could have recently undergone a medical procedure.

There are several fields that require rehabilitation specialists and skills. As a student of rehabilitation, you will gain a range of skills, all of which are transferable across the medical field and beyond.

Undergraduate

Graduates of a degree in rehabilitation will have a wide range of career options available to them. One of the most common paths is to enter the medical field and work with patients on their rehabilitation journey.

This might mean that you work in a hospital, or any other primary care setting. You may also choose to focus on a specific form of rehabilitation, such as sport rehabilitation or neurological rehabilitation.

Your degree will be delivered through a mixture of modes. These will include lectures and seminars, as well as practical sessions. Depending on your course, you may also have the opportunity to take part in a work placement. Modules you study could include:
