Course Overview
The Nursing Pathway provides students with the necessary skills in Nursing and Health studies. It offers students the opportunity to understand and develop skills related to nursing within the Health and Social Care sector. This course provides a valuable foundation to those who wish to seek a career in nursing or related field, but lack the necessary skills and qualifications to access the relevant degree course.
The course also has exit routes at the end of every year, with experienced staff able to help students apply to the degree of their choice, greatly increasing their chances of achieving that aim.
Students are given the opportunity to gain experience in the field with local Health Boards, in the community and with various organisations related to the Nursing/ Health sector. For example a number of our students are volunteering across hospitals in Swansea, such as with the Engage Project.
Students on the course gain the professional experience and qualifications required within the sector. The modules are underpinned with a high level of academic rigour. Course lecturers continue to pursue relevant industry/ business engagement in order that we can offer bespoke volunteer/placement opportunities related to the students area of interest.
