The MSc Gastroenterology, run in partnership with Diploma MSc, has been designed to help physicians further their knowledge of gastroenterology and improve their clinical judgement. A progression route from the Postgraduate Diploma course in Gastroenterology, this theoretical online course is designed to facilitate a better understanding of common gastroenterology disorders typically found in the community and enable students to upskill in diagnostic and management of gastroenterological disorders. What's more, students will be better equipped to read and interpret endoscopy reports, an increasingly important element of practice.
This online Masters course does not assess or develop endoscopic procedures (as this would require esidential training and supervision) but is designed to improve knowledge, which is an essential complement to clinical practice. With increasing competition for employment in the healthcare arena, and increasing specialisation, the purpose of the gastroenterology course is to promote and enhance professional skills and knowledge that have a direct relevance and application to the demands of working roles.
To secure your place on the course, applicants will typically hold a first degree or equivalent (including international qualifications) in a relevant professional healthcare field, such as a medical or nursing degree. Registered healthcare professionals without these recognised qualifications will be considered on an individual basis and a wide range of prior experience may be taken into account.
In some cases, applicants may be asked to submit a piece of work for assessment in order to confirm that they are able to work comfortably at postgraduate level, and demonstrate the requisite clinical and professional knowledge.
English Language Requirements
Proficiency in the English Language is also essential to completing our courses. If English is NOT your first language, we ask for proof of competency during the application process. We are able to accept an IELTS overall score of 6.0 (with a minimum of 5.5 for each band) or an equivalent qualification.
