Become a specialist in treating patients with disorders of vision and ocular motility. This is the only vision and strabismus masters course for eye care practitioners that is taught entirely online.
This masters programme is designed for orthoptists and other eye care professionals looking to advance their clinical knowledge and understanding in the specialist area of vision and strabismus. It is the only course on these topics that is taught entirely online, so you can fit your studies around your personal and professional commitments.
Our flexible course structure means you can select modules that focus on the topics that interest you most, or that are most relevant to your clinical practice. You could choose to develop a detailed understanding of comitant and incomitant strabismus, examine diseases which affect ocular motility, study visual processing in detail or learn about the effects of stroke.
Optional modules cover research methods, assessing and managing low-vision children and adults, and the prescription and non-prescription medicines that orthoptists can use.
In your final year you’ll work on an independent research project on a topic of interest, either by collecting and analysing empirical data, or conducting a literature based dissertation.
The programme is led by practising orthoptists and eye care professionals, alongside world-leading researchers, who are experienced in supporting mature and distance learners. As well as the support of our teaching team, you will benefit from opportunities to connect with orthoptists from across the world, widening your professional network and enriching your clinical knowledge.
