This MRes provides the technical knowledge and practical skills needed for research in industrial biochemistry. You'll gain experience of laboratory techniques used in the biopharma, healthcare and food industries.
The course consists of 60 credits of assessed taught modules, supplemented by research tutorials and 120 credits of assessed research.
In the taught modules, you will learn about biomolecular structure, properties and function. Entrepreneurial modules introduce you to a variety of creative problem solving techniques. You'll learn how to apply these techniques to develop, evaluate, and apply your ideas.
The course is taught in conjunction with leading biopharma, healthcare and food companies. Examples include AstraZeneca, Arecor, Sanofi, GSK, Upperton Laboratories and Britvic.

For MRes: a BSc/BA (Hons) at 2:1 (or international equivalent) in a relevant subject or 2:2 (or international equivalent) in a relevant subject with a merit at masters; other qualifications may also be accepted.
