About Physics with Year in Industry, BSc - at University of Nottingham

We're home to Nobel Prize-winning research and the popular Sixty Symbols YouTube channel. Join us if you are curious about how our world and universe work.

The Sir Peter Mansfield Imaging Centre is home to the university’s MRI scanners, and is named after our colleague who won the Nobel Prize for his part in its invention.

This course gives you the opportunity to spend a year on placement with an industrial partner. The placement will allow you to apply your learning to a practical setting within a physics-related industry.

You can choose to keep your study broad or focus on a specialist area with optional modules in topics ranging from nanoscience to astronomy. There is flexibility to transfer between most physics degrees after the first year.

Industry experience is a great way to explore future career options and the skills you learn will greatly improve your employability.

A*AA including both maths and physics with at least one of these subjects achieving an A*
