Have you ever wanted to study in the midst of one of the World's greatest wilderness regions? The Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Management (ORTM) Program is uniquely situated in Northern British Columbia, only a short drive from the Rocky and Cariboo Mountains.

You can pick the path of study that best suits your interests. We offer two degree programs within the Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Management Program.

1. If you are interested in protected areas, conservation, outdoor recreation or natural resource management -- consider taking a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources with a major in Outdoor Recreation and Conservation.

2. Perhaps nature-based tourism, tourism marketing or indigenous and cultural tourism interests you more? If this is the case, follow the path to a Bachelor of Arts in Nature-Based Tourism Management.

Do you have a  two-year diploma in Environmental Studies, Natural Resources, Tourism, Sport or Recreation Studies, Commerce, Geography or another similar field? If you have a diploma with a minimum of a 2.00 cumulative GPA you are eligible for a 60-credit-hour program of study at UNBC to receive a BA in Nature-Based Tourism Management.

We offer a dynamic Graduate program where you can earn an MA, an MSc, an MNRES and a PhD. We have 58 faculty who supervise graduate students in the various degrees with a wide range of interests and expertise.
