The aim of the programme is to provide students with the essential academic and professional abilities in order to successfully practice the demanding profession of Physiotherapy in a variety of clinical settings. The programme is structured in a way that ensures that students acquire high quality theoretical and practical skills in the three main domains of Musculoskeletal, Neurological and Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy as well as rehabilitation of other special population groups (burn injury rehabilitation, amputee rehabilitation etc.)
Career Prospects
Graduates will be eligible to apply for registration to the Cyprus Physiotherapists and Physiotherapy Establishments Registration Council. This council is responsible for granting licence to practice the physiotherapy profession. Graduates will have developed employability skills necessary for job applications in the private sector, in private hospitals, private physiotherapy clinics, sport clubs as well as treat patients at home. Also, they will have the opportunity to apply for jobs in the public sector aτ public hospitals and clinics all around Cyprus.
Access to Further Studies
Graduates who wish to continue with future studies, will have the opportunity to register in Postgraduate (Master) level studies. The University of Nicosia offers a Master degree (MSc) in Orthopaedic Science with 2 specializations in Manual Therapy and Sports Physiotherapy. In the near future, two more MSc degrees will be offered by the programme in the fields of Neurological and Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy.
