About Midwifery (Short Programme), MSc - at University of Hull

The 2-year MSc Midwifery programme in midwifery is for adult nurses on the NMC register.

Throughout the programme, you'll gain the knowledge, skills, and competence to care for women and their families across the childbearing period; during pregnancy, labour, birth, postnatal, including the systematic examination and assessment of the newborn infant.

At the point of registration, you will be able to provide skilled, knowledgeable and compassionate care for women and their newborn infants and families.

This course commences in September 2022 and applications will be accepted from September 2021 - May 2022. Applications are made directly to the University, please visit our Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professions page for further information.

To meet NMC requirements, you're expected to study for no less than 3,600 hours over 2 years, equating to 37.5 hours per week. This programme is organised into six trimesters of 13 weeks each, with additional scheduled time for assessment and holidays.

The first two modules are bespoke to the shortened midwifery programme, to introduce you to the principles of midwifery theory and practice
