London is a global hub for the PR and communications industry. We have strong connections with international PR experts, and our teaching staff will provide you with a valuable link to these professional networks. Based in Greenwich, London we will teach you how PR fits within organisational strategy and marketing.
This degree is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR). Successful graduates will be eligible for the CIPR Advanced Certificate in Public Relations, helping to improve your career earning potential.
You will gain an understanding of PR principles and professional skills in writing, presenting, networking, digital communications and media relations. You will learn how to analyse target audiences and implement effective PR and communications campaigns.
Our specialised courses will help you to develop a range of communication skills, and there is a strong emphasis on social media and media relations. You will also be encouraged to reflect on professionalism and ethics.
Links to industryYou will have opportunities to explore specialist sectors, such as corporate, consumer or charity PR. PR industry experts from companies such as Marks & Spencer, leading PR consultancies, the Media Trust and the police, deliver guest lectures to keep you up to date on the latest trends.
In addition, there are field trips to high profile, London-based organisations from the heart of government to Tottenham Hotspur FC.
EmployabilityIn the third year, you will have the option to undertake a work placement to build your core skills, which employers seek in graduates. Previous students have secured placements at the Walt Disney Company, Ford and Sony.
Youwill connect with employers through our dedicated Business SchoolEmployability Team who focus on developing your employmentskills. They also provide you with CV support and will inviteyou to employment fairs to network with employers and recruiters fromindustries. The team was shortlisted for the Times HigherEducation Leadership and Management Awards.
We are actively improving job prospects for graduatesthrough the support we provide. According to survey findings, 93 per centof 2014/15 Greenwich graduates looking for work were already in jobs or furtherstudy by January 2016.
