This degree will prepare you for a career in international business and management. You will learn to approach business with a global outlook and to understand how cultural differences affect business operations.
Designed with industry experts, the programme offers extensive practical coverage of international business issues. This will enable you to gain an understanding of organisations, their management and the changing external environment in which they operate.
You will study courses on international business management and strategy, internationalisation, trade and markets, and emerging economies.
EmployabilityYou will have the option to undertake a work placement in your third year, providing insight and practical skills which employers seek in graduates. Previous students have secured placements at Bloomberg, Nissan, Warner Music and Sandals Resort International.
Youwill connect with employers through our dedicated Business SchoolEmployability Team who focus on developing your employmentskills. They also provide you with CV support and will inviteyou to employment fairs to network with employers and recruiters fromindustries. The team was shortlisted for the Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards.
We are actively improving job prospects for graduatesthrough the support we provide. According to survey findings, 93 per centof 2014/15 Greenwich graduates looking for work were already in jobs or furtherstudy by January 2016.
Experience abroadYou can participate in the Erasmus+ internationalexchange programme. This will help improve your language skills and give youexperience of living and working in another country. The Erasmus+ Schemeprovides a grant towards the cost of studying abroad for a year.
Extracurricular activitiesOur Greenwich Employability Passport scheme recognises and rewards your participation in additional activities such as part-time work, volunteering, student societies or industry guest lectures.
We will encourage you to join societies such as Trading and Investment and take part in student competitions like the UK Trading Challenge. We are proud that our team of first year Greenwich students won the competition, beating teams from many other universities.
The Economics and Business Society provides an additional forum for students to meet and discuss current trends with faculty and guest speakers.
Business start-upYou will be encouraged to enter theuniversity's Enterprise Challenge which rewards student entrepreneurship andinnovation. Previous winners received aprize of £5,000 for their idea of developing an enterprise and study hub.
We encourage our graduates withcredible business ideas to develop their business under academic supervision.International students who wish to develop their business in the UK aftergraduation may be able to apply for a visa Tier1 (Graduate Entrepreneur) scheme, subject toeligibility and availability.
AttendanceIn additional to the standard September start, international students may also begin this programme in January. If you choose a January start, you will study over the summer months in order to begin your second year in September.
