This joint UCC/CIT degree combines fundamental physics with hands-on industrial training, targeting careers in some of the most exciting and innovative industries in Ireland and abroad.

Costs: Full-time EU/EEA/Swiss State undergraduate students may be exempt from paying tuition fees. The State will pay the tuition fees for students who satisfy the Free Fees Criteria. In 2016/17 the Student Contribution Charge was EUR 3,000 and the Capitation Fee was EUR 165.
2017 Entry Requirements: H5 in two subjects, and O6/H7 in four other subjects from Irish, English, Maths, one laboratory science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Physics with Chemistry or Agricultural Science) and two other subjects recognised for entry purposes. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT: H4 in Maths and H4 in a lab science subject.

Lectures and practical sessions take place from 9.00am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday. Usually students spend 18-20 hours/week in the classroom and similar time commitment in the laboratory.
Modules are assessed by a mix of continuous assessment and written examinations.
