About Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons.), UG:Bachelor - at Universiti Kuala Lumpur (Uni KL)

UniKL RCMP Faculty of Pharmacy and Health Sciences offers a pharmaceutical education in Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) that is progressive, contemporary, forward looking and comparable to the pharmaceutical programmes offered in the advance countries. The duration of the programme will be four (4) years.

This undergraduate programme is set up in accordance with the requirement and standards set by the Pharmacy Board of Malaysia, the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA), as well as reviewing the guidelines from various part of the world including the international policy and guidelines (WHO Guidelines) of Good Pharmacy Education and Practice.

Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)

  • PEO 1
    To produce competent pharmacists capable of delivering quality pharmaceutical care that promotes positive health outcomes while functioning actively as health care team professional.
  • PEO 2
    To foster intellectual curiosity and commitment to lifelong learning and contribute to the advancement of the pharmaceutical sciences.
  • PEO 3
    To be the premier educational partner for collaborative health care opportunities and applied research ventures with communities, agencies, businesses, and industries.
  • PEO 4
    To inculcate a spirit of respect for diversity and good citizenship.

Programme Learning Outcomes (PLOs)

Majors in pharmacy will be able to:

  • PLO 1
    Demonstrate professional competence in providing comprehensive pharmacy related services, supplying medicine with pharmaceutical knowledge as well as performing pharmaceutical calculation correctly and precisely.
  • PLO 2
    Apply current skills and tools in delivering professional pharmaceutical care and appropriate approaches in the field of research and drug discovery.
  • PLO 3
    Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of social issues and formulate effective strategies towards resolving related problems.
  • PLO 4
    Demonstrate an understanding and commitment to uphold the professional ethics in delivering pharmacy services to the community.
  • PLO 5
    Demonstrate leadership skills, able to work in a team and communicate effectively with patients, communities and other healthcare personnel.
  • PLO 6
    Apply evidence-based practices and current approaches towards enhancing pharmacy services, research and development and technopreneurial ventures.
  • PLO 7
    Display deep motivation and ability to engage in independent and lifelong learning.
  • PLO 8
    Demonstrate awareness and understanding of management, business practices, and technopreneurial competencies.

Notes about fees for this course

The fees for this Bachelor amounts 44,200 RM

Entry requirements

A-Level

3B OR 1C OR 1A 1B 1C in Biology and Chemistry and Physics OR Mathematics with at least B in Chemistry

Additional

Local applicants HAVE TO pass Bahasa Melayu and English with at least Grade C in SPM or its equivalent 

HAVE TO pass MUET at least band 3 before grade

Diploma

Diploma science (Chemistry or biology or physics) CGPA 3.75 and above including B in Chemistry

OR

Diploma Pharmacy CGPA 3.5 and above

Additional

Local applicants HAVE TO pass Bahasa Melayu and English with at least Grade C in SPM or its equivalent 

HAVE TO pass MUET at least band 3 before grade

Pass SPPM with at least 5B in Biology and Chemistry and physics and mathematics (or additional mathematics) and one (1) in other subject in Certification level or its equivalent
