About Bachelor of Engineering Technology with Honours (Mechanical), UG:Bachelor (Hons) - at Universiti Kuala Lumpur (Uni KL)

The programme aims to provide students with an excellent foundation in the core technical competencies of the discipline: thermal and fluid sciences, solid mechanics and materials and dynamics and control. Built upon these strengths is a very strong focus on application of these technical abilities through our design and manufacturing project oriented courses.

Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)

  • PEO 1
    To produce technically qualified mechanical engineers who will contribute towards the human capital in the related industry.
  • PEO 2
    To produce mechanical engineers with the ability to advance themselves in an engineering, technical or academic field.
  • PEO 3
    To produce mechanical engineers who practice professionally, ethically with social responsibility.
  • PEO 4
    To produce mechanical engineers who are capable of embarking on business and technopreneurial activities.

Programme Learning Outcomes (PLOs)

Majors in mechanical will be able to:

  • PLO 1
    Engineering Knowledge: Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialisation to the solution of complex mechanical engineering problems;
  • PLO 2
    Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature and analyse, complex mechanical engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences;
  • PLO 3
    Design / Development of Solutions: Design solutions for complex mechanical engineering problems and design systems, components or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal, and environmental considerations; The ability to design systems, components or processes to meet industrial needs.
  • PLO 4
    Investigation: Conduct investigation into complex problems using research based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of information to provide valid conclusions;
  • PLO 5
    Modern Tool Usage: Create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools, including prediction and modelling, to complex mechanical engineering activities, with an understanding of limitations;
  • PLO 6
    The Engineer and Society: Apply reasoning informed by contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to professional engineering practice;
  • PLO 7
    Environment and Sustainability: Understand the impact of professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts and demonstrate knowledge of and need for sustainable development;
  • PLO 8
    Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of engineering practice;
  • PLO 9
    Communication: Communicate effectively on complex mechanical engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions;
  • PLO 10
    Individual and Team Work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams and in multi-disciplinary settings;Life Long Learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change;
  • PLO 11
    Life Long Learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change;
  • PLO 12
    Project Management and Finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments;

Notes about fees for this course

The fees for this Bachelor amounts 16,000 RM

Entry requirements

A-Level : 

Pass A level with minimum grade C in Mathematics and Science Physical 

OR

Pass in Diploma Level 4 Kerangka Qualifications Malaysia (KKM) in related fields of Mechanical Engineering Technology/ Mechanical Engineering from PPT which certified by Malaysia government with CGPA 2.50.

OR

Pass International Baccalaureate with at least 24 and at least 4 marks in Mathematics and Science Physical.
